Anna Mora, Cello

Born in Barcelona, she shares her professional activity between cello, pedagogy and musicology.

As a cellist, she has been part of several chamber music groups, including the cello trio Violoncel·listes de Barcelona, and symphony orchestras. She has played in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and Korea.

She was selected to join the program “Invitation to the Music” (Live Music Now), founded in England by Yehudi Menuhin, the point of which is bring the music to unusual places like jails, psychiatric centers o military academies. With this organisation she has given more than 100 performances, and with the guitarist Joan Garrobé she has recorded for different television channels (TV3, TV2, etc.).

Together with Laia Pujolassos (violin) and Pilar Guarné (piano), she is the founder of the Clara Schumann Ensemble, focused on the research, interpretation and promotion of female composers.

Anna teaches cello at the El Musical Conservatory of Bellaterra and at the Music School of l’Ametlla del Vallès (Barcelona). Within the pedagogical line, since 2010 she leads the cello choir GRUPCELLO.CAT.

Her interest on research has brought her to publish several books on Pablo Casals correspondence. The last one, to be published soon, is an epistolary anthology of the great Catalan master.
