Jacob Prokop is currently a sophomore tenor-trombone student at the New England Conservatory of Music (NEC). Jacob graduated from Lake High School in Akron, Ohio in 2016. Before moving to Boston, Jacob was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, Akron Youth Symphony, the Freedom Brass Band of Northeast Ohio, and the Brass Band of the Western Reserve. During high school, Jacob attended music festivals such as the Interlochen Arts Academy summer camp, the Cleveland Trombone Seminar, and the Summer Trombone Workshop in New York. Jacob also participated in the Ohio All-State Orchestra throughout high school. Before attending NEC, Jacobs primary teachers were Richard Stout of the Cleveland Orchestra, and James Albrecht, trombone professor at the University of Akron. At NEC, Jacob is currently in the studio of Stephen Lange of the Boston Symphony.
