Kyumin Park, violin

Kyumin Park is pursuing his Master of Music degree at the New England Conservatory studying under Donald Weilerstein where he received his Bachelor of Music degree. He has reached international recognition, winning the 2nd prize at the International Max Rostal competition, 2nd prize at the International Music Competition of Harbin in China, and 3rd prize at the Klein International Competition in San Francisco. In 2013 he won the Thomas and Evon Cooper International Violin Competition held at Oberlin where he played with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra.
Along with his successful international achievements Kyumin made his solo concert d├ębut for the Kumho Prodigy Concert series in 2012 in Seoul. He has been invited to many festivals worldwide including Ravinia Festival, Holland Music Festival and Kneisel hall. He performed with the world known orchestras including The Cleveland Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and Korean Symphony Orchestra. Recently, Kyumin performed Elgar Violin Concerto with the NEC Philharmonia led by Hugh Wolff. He currently plays on a 1740 Dominicus Montagnana, generously on loan from the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation.
