Mary Marathe, mezzo-soprano

Mezzo-soprano Mary Marathe has appeared in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Grace Church Choral Society and Voices of Ascension at Keenefest, in Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel at the Salzburg Mozarteum, and as a soloist and ensemble singer with Musica Sacra, Amor Artis, New York Virtuoso Singers, New York Concert Singers, Gregg Smith Singers, New York Treble Singers, The Society for Universal Sacred Music, New York City Ballet and New York City Opera. She was a featured soloist in Joby Talbot’s Path of Miracles and in the premiere of David Lang’s The Little Matchgirl Passion, both broadcast on WNYC. She has performed as both a soloist and ensemble singer at the Bard Music Festival and has also participated in the Bard Summerscape opera performances for the past ten years. She appeared as the alto soloist in the Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio with Sacred Music in a Sacred Space. Ms. Marathe has recorded with Deutsche Grammophon, BMG, EMI, New World Records, CRI, Soundbrush Records, and as a soloist in Thea Musgrave’s Choral Works for Bridge. Ms. Marathe sang in the premiere of Bruce Adolphe’s The End of Tonight.
