Born in N.Y.C.

Has appeared as soloist with orchestras in Oregon, New Jersey, and New York. Solo recitals, Columbia U., Princeton U., Carnegie Recital Hall. Participant, Marlboro Music Festival, since 1960; featured artist several times in Music From Marlboro series at Town Hall and on tour throughout the Eastern United States, Canada; in State Department-sponsored tour of Europe; Near East, summer 1965. Member, Galimir String Quartet, 1961-69; joined Juilliard String Quartet, 1969.

Degrees and Studies

B.A., Queens College; M.F.A., Princeton U., studies with Earl Kim, Roger Sessions; earlier studies with Sydney Beck, Walter Trampler.

The Juilliard School

Faculty since 1969; co-chair, viola department, 1992-2001; chair since 2002.
