Our 14th season in Boston —Parlando — weaves together three threads that all have to do with the stories we tell…in music. Each concert:
has been curated by one of MFF’s beloved friends
features a world premiere for viola, composed and performed by NEC students
centers a work that integrates spoken word
We start 2024 with Haydn’s colossal The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross, his late string quartet in d minor, Op. 103, and the world premiere of Echoes of Loss by Da-Yu Liu! This concert was curated by Miriam Fried, and artists on the program include Miriam Fried, Paul Biss, Nicholas Cordes, Yeesun Kim Kitchen, Njord Fossnes, and Da-Yu Liu. Don’t miss a word or a note this season!
As with all MFF concerts, admission is free with a suggested donation ($40/adult, $15/student), not tickets or RSVPs are necessary, and ALL proceeds will go to a local food pantry. The Boston core concerts this year support Women’s Lunch Place.
