Songs of Food and Hunger

This fall, sopranos Kristina Bachrach and Laura Strickling will be joined by pianists Daniel Schlosberg and Scott Wheeler on a program of contemporary American vocal music, including a world premiere by Scott Wheeler, at Chicago's Guarneri Hall. Based on Suzanne Cleary’s poem “A Piece of Bread,” the text of Wheeler’s work is a meditation on food and hunger. All proceeds from this concert will go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Admission is free with suggested donation, and RSVPs will be required.
