NEC Prep CHIPS Joins Forces with Music for Food

New England Conservatory Preparatory School CHIPS (Chamber Music Intensive Performance Seminar) is joining forces with Music for Food beginning this spring.

CHIPS has selected the Boston-based organization Food for Free as its beneficiary partner. In the coming weeks, CHIPS students will meet with representatives from Food for Free to learn more about their work addressing food insecurity across the greater Boston area.

The first CHIPS Music for Food concert will take place on April 19 at Carriage House Violins in Newton.

Additional CHIPS Music for Food concerts are planned throughout the 2026–27 school year. The series will encourage young musicians to use their artistry in the service of their communities and to experience the powerful role music can play beyond the concert hall.
